Band in the Subway at half past 12... AM

This is the kind of fun I have in the subways after I do flyering at concerts. It's only the first half of the song because I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes for the next Q train.

Pilot and a Web Promotion for Asher Roth

Yeah basically this morning I skipped my War and Film class to act as a restaurant patron (some lines with that) which was pretty cool. After that I watched Sugarcane Alley for my Film and Lit class and then did this web promotion for Asher Roth. I don't really know exactly how they're planning on putting the promo together, so I'm not really sure how much I will or won't be shown on that. But yeah, anyway, cool day.

Now I'm off to do homework to make up for being a bad student this morning.

Some concert photos I just found on my camera..

The first two are Los Lobos and the third that you can barely see because I was so far back in the crowd was from The Pogues.

Playing a College Student in New York - Wait, this one doesn't feel too much like acting...

So today I was playing a college student in this short indie film. That was easy. It was also the first time I took the J to Essex street and the first time I've been in an elementary school since fifth grade.

Ugly Betty Was So Being Filmed Next to My Dorm Last Night

So after I came back after doing some flyering at a concert last night, I noticed that Lafayette was blocked off in front of my dorm and there was intense lighting everywhere. I asked some guy on set what they were filming and then he told me that a block up they were filming Ugly Betty. So I went down and they were filming in front of the family court (haha only time I've ever thought it was cool that NYU put a dorm next to that) and I totally could see America Ferrera, Becky Newton (Amanda), and Michael Urie (Marc St. James) on set. Haha, and I kind of know what will be happening on the season finale now, but I'm not one to post spoilers.

peace,

Tori

Pilot!

So today I was in this pilot for TMZ playing a member of the paparazzi. And as much as that sounds like I was cast as an extra I completely had lines. I would get into what the show was about more but it's a pilot and yadda yadda yadda I probably shouldn't spell out the concept online. But anyway, twas a cool day.

Peace,

Tori

Today's Photo Shoot

Yeah, so I just did a TFCD photo shoot to get headshots today. I'll be getting one of them retouched later this week, but as for now here are some of the photos. You can check out the photographer too at www.MattFrisbiePhotography.com

Stylecaster.com Styling Competition

Honestly, that was probably one of the most random things I've done. It was cool, but it was like, we didn't know our partners first and apparently the FBA made it out like everyone was really into fashion business even though most people in the club aren't that serious about it (because NYU isn't really a great school for fashion in general). I also had no idea they wanted to interview us, and let me just say I was really unprepared for the questions and it is pretty obvious in the videos. Anyway, I'll post their videos when they post them to their site.

Truth Campaign Commercial in Brooklyn

This morning started off nice and early (woah 4 hours of sleep last night) as I went off to the Park Slope Armory to run around and die (only acting :)) on a track for one of the Truth commercials. It was cool and I wasn't soaked in milk like last time so overall pretty cool day. The first photo here is of the set and the second is of a train station in Brooklyn that someone spray-painted inkhead on which I found so random that it was worthy of a photo. Oh and the last photo is of me in the Truth headband that we had to wear for the shoot. Hmmm... not sure how I feel about fashion stolen from Juno....

peace,

Tori

This is what happens when I get bored at midnight waiting for the subway in Times Square...

Yeah, pretty random.

It's also basically spring break for me since I'm probably going to ditch my acting class on Friday for the Truth Campaign commercial shoot.

Real Life Update

Okay, so finally something exciting again. I just found out that tomorrow I'm going to be one of the contestants for the stylecaster.com NYU styling competition. This is all going on in their offices with the editors judging so it should be awesome.

So.....

Yeah it's mid-terms now. Nothing overly interesting is going on with me right now. Apparently the truth campaign is having us come back for another commercial but there are no details on that as of yet except they would go on during my spring break. Oh and I went to an audition on Saturday for a small part in an indie feature. I guess that went okay, but like, I can never tell if casting directors are or aren't interested.

But yeah, it's not that I'm being lazy with the blog, just not a lot going on at the moment.

Only in New York do People Film Stuff in the Street Outside of Your Dorm..

I have no idea what they were filming but they weren't a news crew (or one of the major or local ones at least) and the "reporter" totally was pissing off cars that were swerving around her.

Life Updates

Tomorrow I'm going to be in a silent experimental film where I'll be planting a flower in a white outfit. Yeah, my life is pretty random.

There's a Blizzard in March and NYU still had classes

So, apparently most colleges in NYC ended up getting a snow day. NYU apparently has no problem keeping class in session when commuters can't show. Anyway, I still went even though I had to climb through snow to get out of Lafayette at 7:30 AM before the snow was walked over. Should have taken photos earlier when there was more snow, but here's how things were around 11:00 AM on campus.
