Updates on Life

1. Staying in NYC for the summer!! Currently in Stuytown about to move to Greenpoint in Brooklyn.

2. I've been booking tons of promos, this month alone American Airlines, Bobbi Brown 3 week gig, Self Magazine, Canadian Club Whiskey and I'm waiting for updates on a few more for the next couple of weeks. Also just joined a bunch of new agencies so I hopefully will be booking even more stuff.

3. Really wanting to spend my time getting serious with the whole acting / modeling thing. I have a shoot booked at the end of this month, just did a commercial for New Era today, and I'm about to send out headshots / resumes to local agencies.

So much schoolwork!

For serious, way too much work right now. On an awesome note though, it is perfectly amazing outside! Oh and here's a photo that I randomly took of my reflection on a John Lennon Exhibit advertisement while I was walking through SoHo today.

Oh, and if you're in NYC you must try the iced Thai coffee at Thai Angel, probably the best coffee beverage on Earth.

Saturday

So today I'm kind of taking a break from everything and just writing poetry for class, drinking mad amounts of coffee, and then other less interesting homework. My week was pretty normal, worked some for Bacardi, went to a lecture on post-dramatic theater and a literary career panel, and attempted to go to the MoMA but then the line for friday tickets was like a block long so I ditched that idea and went to Jamba Juice instead.

Spring Break is Coming to an End....

So I just stayed around NYC over break. I ended up doing a five day promo for Green Mountain Coffee though which was pretty sweet since I am the world's largest caffeine addict. Also when to Crash Mansion for the first time which was awesome, especially since it was open bar when we went down. And then tomorrow I am doing a photoshoot for designer Jen Marques. Also, auditioning for a film tomorrow too, hopefully that will go well.

Saturday Post

Yeah, it's technically kind of Sunday here on the east coast, but whatever it's still saturday night in my book.

Anyway, first day working a Bacardi promotion. So much fun! Love the new job so much! But yeah, totally sleepy.

Peace guys!

Today's Updates

1. No snow day today, however I'll be getting a day off of my 8am French class later on in the semester since my professor felt bad about us not getting a snow day yesterday.

2. Tomorrow I'll be working for WDD handing out free magazines in the Mercedes Benz tent.

NYU Actually Had a Snow Day!!!

Seriously, this is about as likely to happen as Satan rejecting people from hell. But of course my 8am class still happened because NYU waited this announcement until noon.

Here's what my walk to campus at 7:45 AM looked like:

Hopefully everyone in NYC knew the street names by heart today:

And this is how NYU looked right after they announced that the University was closing.

As for now I'm just hoping they will cancel tomorrow, because I really don't feel like walking through the blizzard again.

Ersi Sotiropoulos Reading at NYU

Tonight I went to a reading by Ersi from her book Sotiropoulos Landscape With Dog: And Other Stories. Admittedly, I hadn't read any of her work before so I didn't really know what to expect, but her short stories were simply amazing. From characters that adore men who admit to being uncomfortable with their weight to ones who think that Polanski kidnapped them and that they got pregnant at his place Rosemary's Baby style. The four stories that she read were all funny, original, and unexpectedly full of meaning.

If you want to check out the book here's the amazon link:

I haven't purchased it yet, but it's definitely on my list of books to buy once I stop spending all of my money on books for NYU.

Because yesterday a guy drew faces on 14th St from Broadway to Fifth Ave

So random but pretty awesome. I love NYC because of stuff like this. If you didn't notice from the photo the artist is Felix Marcelo and you can check him out at www.FelixMarcelo.com

I saw Wes Anderson in person!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yeah, it was totally amazing. This happened on 11-11-09 at the Apple Store in Soho. Sadly my attempt at getting there an hour early failed and I ended up only getting there half an hour early so I was pretty far back in the crowd. Anyway, here are some photos from the event. Next time I do something this cool I promise to post about it immediately.

Updates from the past few months part 2

I walked into Old Navy one day and saw this scary scene:

I was one of the hair stylists at the Herbal Essences table at the IJC Fashion Show Fall 09:

haha, Just thought these were cute. By the way I only took these to show my mom wardrobe updates:

Oh yeah, my hair also got mad curly for a couple of weeks:

Just noticed that I've been MIA on here for quite a bit

Sorry, the past few months have been extremely packed for me. Anyway, here's a brief photo diary of those months:

So on Halloween I came across the PlayGirl van. That was just so random, especially since it was parked by a Walgreens and Chase (and no club / bar in site).

Here's a couple of photos from the Halloween Weezer concert:

Also some seamlessweb Halloween work. Sorry I had to post the male Geisha haha:

Oh yeah, and the Yankee's won the world series and their fans went insane all over lower Manhattan:

More to come soon...
