Saturday Post

Yeah, it's technically kind of Sunday here on the east coast, but whatever it's still saturday night in my book.

Anyway, first day working a Bacardi promotion. So much fun! Love the new job so much! But yeah, totally sleepy.

Peace guys!

Today's Updates

1. No snow day today, however I'll be getting a day off of my 8am French class later on in the semester since my professor felt bad about us not getting a snow day yesterday.

2. Tomorrow I'll be working for WDD handing out free magazines in the Mercedes Benz tent.

NYU Actually Had a Snow Day!!!

Seriously, this is about as likely to happen as Satan rejecting people from hell. But of course my 8am class still happened because NYU waited this announcement until noon.

Here's what my walk to campus at 7:45 AM looked like:

Hopefully everyone in NYC knew the street names by heart today:

And this is how NYU looked right after they announced that the University was closing.

As for now I'm just hoping they will cancel tomorrow, because I really don't feel like walking through the blizzard again.

Ersi Sotiropoulos Reading at NYU

Tonight I went to a reading by Ersi from her book Sotiropoulos Landscape With Dog: And Other Stories. Admittedly, I hadn't read any of her work before so I didn't really know what to expect, but her short stories were simply amazing. From characters that adore men who admit to being uncomfortable with their weight to ones who think that Polanski kidnapped them and that they got pregnant at his place Rosemary's Baby style. The four stories that she read were all funny, original, and unexpectedly full of meaning.

If you want to check out the book here's the amazon link:

I haven't purchased it yet, but it's definitely on my list of books to buy once I stop spending all of my money on books for NYU.

Because yesterday a guy drew faces on 14th St from Broadway to Fifth Ave

So random but pretty awesome. I love NYC because of stuff like this. If you didn't notice from the photo the artist is Felix Marcelo and you can check him out at www.FelixMarcelo.com
